Micae is a singer/songwriter and music therapist based in Vancouver, BC. Her songs tell stories through quiet statements, emotional snapshots, and images that linger – sifting through love, loss, and the things we carry. While rooted in personal experience, her writing is shaped by the wider social and relational contexts we move through – especially how care, identity, and gender intersect.
Micae grew up with music all around her – singing from the age of four, studying voice into her early twenties. In 2021, she became a music therapist, opening a private practice called InTandem Music Therapy, where she supports neurodivergent kids and teens in making sense of their experiences through songwriting. Her curiosity about how we learn and connect also led her to pursue a Master’s in Education, where she’s researching how autistic students use technology to access learning in ways that feel meaningful.
In between all this, she’s been making music. Micae’s vocals were featured on the 2022 album Star Dreams by Fancey (of The New Pornographers), which received praise in Variety and Psychedelic Baby Magazine, with airplay across North America. She’s currently at work on her debut LP titled It All Looks A Little Different Now, which explores themes of feminism, justice, forgiveness, and love through a blend of melodic indie and folk rock with a country-characteristic yearning.
