Your source for local music.

Unsigned BC is a volunteer radio show that broadcasts live from the DTES every Saturday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Vancouver’s Co-op Radio CFRO 100.5FM. In addition to our radio show we provide extensive local content on our Instagram page, where you can find updates on the latest projects that we are working on.

The primary purpose of Unsigned BC is to provide a free platform for local musicians to promote their work while fostering professional connections. Growing the local music scene and encouraging appreciation for local artists is an important secondary objective. The program places an emphasis on providing opportunities for members of communities that have been traditionally disadvantaged or underserved in the media.

Unsigned BC is administered by the Unsigned BC Music Society, a registered not-for-profit organization. Click here to learn more about membership and become a member yourself.

Testimonials

“It’s an honour to be on their show next to musicians I already know & respect so highly, plus the introduction to other BC artists that I haven’t heard before is a cherry on top.”

“UnsignedBC was pivotal in building confidence as an newer artist[…] Without them, hundreds of people may have never received their first play on the radio.”

“Unsigned BC provides such a great community for independent artists. An opportunity to gain radio exposure for our music, and an even better opportunity to connect with other artists to promote collaboration and community building.”

“Thanks to Unsigned BC, countless local artists (myself included) have been able to expand the reach of their original music in ways that were previously impossible to achieve without the backing of a major label. This show has also fostered a much needed sense of community and optimism within the local music scene (no small feat, especially after the challenges posed to the music community over the past few years)[…] I think Brandon may well be the hardest-working radio show host I’ve come across yet.”

“I have nothing but good things to say about Brandon and the team at Unsigned BC.
I moved to Vancouver in the fall of 2020 and they were one of the first music outlets I found. They accepted my music with open arms and played one of my songs for the very first time on their radio station, a moment I’ll never forget!
In May of 2022, I was invited to perform at a fundraiser for Ukraine. We were provided free professional photos with our set and networking opportunities that I’m still connected to this day.
Thank you Unsigned BC for all you do to support your local BC artists!”

“[…]In my role as an independent media proprietor, I have witnessed Brandon develop local talent via Unsigned BC. The program has helped to break artists within BC's independent music scene, some of whom I have learned about from the program and then gone on to cover on my own properties, which include the Rhythm Changes Podcast and Pacific Sound Radio podcast[…]”
