KD Surreal is a DIY singer-songwriter project from Abbotsford, B.C., pairing delicate fingerpicked melodies with shifting, dynamic song structures to make songs that are equal parts intimate and soaring.

 In 2021, KD Surreal was nominated for Folk Artist of the Year at the Fraser Valley Music Awards. Since then, KD Surreal has circulated small-run USB “Mixtapes” – each one with an entirely different set of songs. The following years saw the release of Footnotes to the Faultline, a work that the Permanent Rain Press saw as a balance of  “firm and crafty delivery” with a sense of the “bleak and biting”,  as well as the moody alt-country single ”I Know You've Been Calling".  His newest offering, the In and out of Torpor EP, is set to release July 4, 2025.
